LEARNING TO DRIVE: PASS PLUS
Insurance can be expensive
But there's a way to make it cheaper; once you have passed your Driving Test you should consider taking a PASS PLUS course. PASS PLUS was introduced by the Driving Standards Agency as a way to try to make newly qualified drivers safer. The course build upon the driving experience you have already gained.
The course is usually completed over 6 hours (not in one go!) and covers the following:
Town & Country driving
Motorway & Dual Carriageway driving
Night driving
Greater awareness of driving in adverse weather conditions
The instructor will issue a report of your success on the course (this is not a test) and this will enable you to get cheaper insurance on your car - it will also help to make you a safer driver.
Ideally, PASS PLUS should be completed within 12 months of passing your test.
Please remember that you can book a refresher lesson any time after you have passed your test, just to ensure your driving skills are kept up to date.
